Earlier, the book "The Journey of Wind and Rain - A Review of the Technical Guidance Work of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road", edited by Guangdong "Three Divisions" Volunteer Association and published by Guangdong Economic Press, recorded the whole process of the technical service of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road provided by more than 200 volunteers of the three divisions, and the "Guangdong Programme" for the revitalisation and utilisation of the linear cultural heritage. The "Guangdong Solution", "A Journey through Wind and Rain - A Review of the Technical Guidance Work of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road", was unveiled at the 2023 South China Book Festival. In the round-table dialogue on "New Thoughts on Old Roads for the Protection, Inheritance and Utilisation of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Roads", Tang Xiwen, Executive Vice President of Shenzhen Urban Space Planning and Architectural Design Co. 　　Planning review: cultural, tourism and sports activities have always been a breakthrough in the planning of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road

　　Since 2016, when Governor Xu (Xu Ruisheng) proposed the ancient stagecoach route, my first reaction was that this matter "forced" us planning practitioners, who had been sitting in front of computers and drawing diagrams, to go for a walk on the ancient route, and it would be quite good to move our bodies. Later, I found that the conservation and utilisation of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road also started with sports activities, which I found very interesting.

　　The entire South Guangdong Ancient Post Road is spread throughout the province, even including Hunan Jiangxi and other provinces and other local resources, the amount of information is too large, how to systematically sort out these resources into a plate? In fact, in 2016 to carry out the revitalisation of the use of ancient stagecoach routes before, our province has been doing the province's stagecoach resources census, this is a very good foundation work, on this basis, each place to all the ancient stagecoach routes resources reported, this is actually we are now talking about ancient post roads planning a great deal of reliance.

　　And through the provincial outdoor sports association, they have a lot of willingness to explore, usually independent travelers to consciously or unconsciously discover some of the resources of the ancient post roads, for our use. Planning to explore some of this information, with the investigation of these resources together, only after the distribution of the entire Guangdong Province, the distribution of ancient postal routes road, the history of the evolution of a more comprehensive understanding of the basis for the gradual improvement, the formation of the results we see today such a plan.

　　Future Prospect: Continuously Promote the Follow-up Maintenance and Management, and Enhance the Social Performance of the South Guangdong Ancient Post Road

　　I think there are two points for the future of the ancient post road, one of which is what inspector Cao （Cao Jin） said, which is that even the fragrance of wine is afraid of the depth of the alley. The ancient post road is such a good thing, our cultural and tourism system, the provincial government system can continue to push the ancient post road, continue to expand its influence, then its role will be more and more magnified. I think that from the comprehensive perspective of the province, we should continue to make this thing a priority, continue to move forward, because his foundation is very good, and the position is very high, and can see that the ancient post road this practice with our world's most advanced European cultural routes is the same level of things. We have to keep this thing moving forward.

　　The second I think the ancient stagecoach road to make good use of it, Miss Zhu (Zhu Xuemei) later on the operation and maintenance, I think it is still very important. I have a personal habit. In the initial stages, I follow various departments of the provincial government to investigate the construction process. Once the project is completed and the ancient post road has been left untouched for a year or two, I personally drive to the site. In the capacity of an enthusiast for ancient post roads or a history enthusiast, I walk through the ancient post road. After completion, I assess if there are any issues. I think there are still quite a number of problems in the whole province, and these problems actually affect the experience of ordinary users of the ancient post roads. For example, the Qi-Ao Ancient Trail in Zhuhai, where the weather may be dry to prevent hill fires, was closed without any notice. Another example is the Xijing Ancient Trail, which is very inconvenient to go up. You can go there by yourself, but how can I go back to pick up my car after coming down from the provincial highway, which is a problem. There are also places such as Meizhou where there are good signs introducing the flora and fauna, but there are fewer such things on the Xijing Ancient Road, but we see that there are many plants and they are also very interesting, so there is a big difference in the experience of the ordinary viewer or the ordinary tourist. This actually shows that there is still a difference in the level of maintenance, operation and management of the ancient stagecoach routes in different places.
